Duped

Trust with blue markerI have most definitely been the “victim of deception” before – just about everyone has. I’ve been lied too. I’ve been deceived. It’s no fun being on the receiving end of another person’s deception. There are times that a lot of hurt happens with the deception. Trust is certainly destroyed with deception. I can so hear the pain, frustration and struggle when King David writes about this. Check this out…

20 My companion attacks his friends;

    he violates his covenant.
21 His talk is smooth as butter,

    yet war is in his heart;

his words are more soothing than oil,

    yet they are drawn swords.
22 Cast your cares on the Lord

    and he will sustain you;

he will never let the righteous be shaken.
23 But you, God, will bring down the wicked

    into the pit of decay;

the bloodthirsty and deceitful

    will not live out half their days.
But as for me, I trust in you. (Psalm 55:20-23 NIV)

The Lord will NEVER deceive me.

The Lord has never lied to me.

The Lord has never hurt me.

The Lord has never turned on me.

The Lord is most definitely worthy of my trust.

He has sustained me.

He has held me when I’m hurt.

He has healed my heart when it was broken.

He has forgiven me too many times to count.

He continues to love me.

He continues to build me.

He is completely worthy of my trust and honor.

Pressing On!
Dwayne
