Destiny

The text FEED YOUR FAITH appearing behind torn brown paperI have seen sports teams near the end of the regular system whose “destiny is in their hands”. In theory that means that it’s totally up to them if they make the playoffs. I sometimes wonder just how much I can control my own destiny. I actually know people that think that they have zero control over their own destiny. Others believe that it doesn’t matter what you do or who you are, if your destined for heaven or hell – you can’t change that. I don’t find that in the Word of God. I believe God’s heart is for everyone to know Him and to believe in Him. He does give us the choice to accept Him or reject Him. I believe that is the extent to which I control my destiny. If I trust in Him and believe in Him, my destiny is heaven. If I reject Him and ignore Him, my destiny is hell. If the Lord gave me no choice to believe or not, it would not be genuine. It would be like someone putting a gun to my head and ordering me to love them. I would say whatever they required me to say to keep from getting shot, but it would not be genuine love for sure.

Revelation is a very symbolic and dramatic book in which John, who is given the Revelation is describing things he’s never seen before. He also gives commentary in between the scenes of the revelation. Check this out….

And all the people who belong to this world worshiped the beast. They are the ones whose names were not written in the Book of Life that belongs to the Lamb who was slaughtered before the world was made.

Anyone with ears to hear
    should listen and understand.
10 Anyone who is destined for prison
    will be taken to prison.
Anyone destined to die by the sword
    will die by the sword.

This means that God’s holy people must endure persecution patiently and remain faithful.(Revelation 13:8-10 NLT)

I want to be faithful to the Lord all the days of my life.

I want to follow His leadership all the days of my life.

I want to love like He loved all the days of my life.

I want to be strong in the face of adversity.

I want to be faithful in difficult circumstances.

I have a grateful heart for my destiny with the Lord is solid and He keeps His promises.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
