Confirmation

rural roadsThere are times that I’m just not sure what road to take. I ask the Lord and weigh all the options. I finally feel His nudge or push in one direction and off I go. A little later on the journey He does something that is confirmation of the path I’m on. I love feeling His confirmation and His affirmation on my life and the direction I’m going. When I receive confirmation from the Lord then I’m not turning back.

Joseph was making preparations for his entire family to come to Egypt where things were good. His dad was a bit reluctant, but finally decided that this was the right thing to do. As he’s on his way, the Lord confirms the journey. Check this out….

1 So Israel set out with all that was his, and when he reached Beersheba, he offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.

2 And God spoke to Israel in a vision at night and said, ‘Jacob! Jacob!’

‘Here I am,’ he replied.

3 ‘I am God, the God of your father,’ he said. ‘Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there. 4 I will go down to Egypt with you, and I will surely bring you back again. And Joseph’s own hand will close your eyes.’

5 Then Jacob left Beersheba, and Israel’s sons took their father Jacob and their children and their wives in the carts that Pharaoh had sent to transport him. 6 So Jacob and all his offspring went to Egypt, taking with them their livestock and the possessions they had acquired in Canaan. 7 Jacob brought with him to Egypt his sons and grandsons and his daughters and granddaughters – all his offspring. (Genesis 46:1-7 NIV)

I love it when the Lord speaks into my heart. I can’t quite describe what it feels like to have Him lead me into one direction or the other. I want my journey in His Word to teach me and speak into me. I can’t say that I’ve ever heard Him call me by name, but I’ve most definitely felt His Presence leading me. Part of the struggle is that the enemy is trying to push on me and lead me away from the Lord’s plan. I have to be careful and seek the Lord’s face and His confirmation when choosing my direction is challenging. Most of the time it is obvious, but there are times the options seem to many to choose from and to easy as well. I don’t need confirmation to choose to follow Him on a daily basis, but sometimes He does something that really confirms for me His Presence in my life.

Pressing On!
