Changed

I think change is a normal part of humanity. We are changing today and we’re different than we were yesterday. Change is not always easy, but it is always happening. I’ve seen people change in an instant and I’ve seen people change over a period of years.  A couple of young ladies in my office are expecting a baby this year. I’ve shared with them that there is not one single part of their lives that won’t be dramatically changed when the little one arrives.  None of your routines and unconscious behaviors are left untouched. When you undergo a significant change, you expect things to be different, and you anticipate that you will have to significantly change how you do things.

I think Jesus’ followers were changed when they saw Him changed on the mountain. Check this out…

1Six days later Jesus took Peter and the two brothers, James and John, and led them up a high mountain to be alone. As the men watched, Jesus’ appearance was transformed so that his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as light. Suddenly, Moses and Elijah appeared and began talking with Jesus.

Peter exclaimed, “Lord, it’s wonderful for us to be here! If you want, I’ll make three shelters as memorials—one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

But even as he spoke, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy. Listen to him.” The disciples were terrified and fell face down on the ground. (Matthew 17”1-6 NLT)

The Lord is still changing me.

The Lord is still working on my heart.

The Lord is still challenging some of my routines and habits.

I sometimes wish I could talk to people in my past about what I know now. I’m sure my conversations with them would contain a lot of questions when answered would give valuable insight to me today.

As I walk through God’s Word, I realize that His Word challenges change in my everyday life. I remember seeing radical change in others. A friend of mine once commented that “it’s hard to argue with a changed life”.  I want to be open to change when God’s Word prompts a change in me.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
