Celebrate The Journey

I often reflect on my life as a journey with the Lord. He is faithful even when I’m not. He is patient with me as I often try do things my way. He is with me even when I ignore His Presence. I have had some milestone events along the way for sure. I have reason to celebrate even today just to be where I am.

As the people of Israel returned from captivity to rebuild their homeland, it was definitely difficult. There were basically starting over in the rebuilding their lives. They decided to start first with the rebuilding of the Temple.  I love how they celebrated just getting the foundation laid. Check this out…

10 When the builders completed the foundation of the Lord’s Temple, the priests put on their robes and took their places to blow their trumpets. And the Levites, descendants of Asaph, clashed their cymbals to praise the Lord, just as King David had prescribed. 11 With praise and thanks, they sang this song to the Lord:

“He is so good!
His faithful love for Israel endures forever!”

Then all the people gave a great shout, praising the Lord because the foundation of the Lord’s Temple had been laid.

12 But many of the older priests, Levites, and other leaders who had seen the first Temple wept aloud when they saw the new Temple’s foundation. The others, however, were shouting for joy. 13 The joyful shouting and weeping mingled together in a loud noise that could be heard far in the distance. (Ezra 3:10-13 NLT)

I think it’s healthy to celebrate the small moments along the way.

I think it’s wise to notice the Lord’s Presence in the life moments along the way.

I think it’s wise to express gratitude to the Lord for His Presence and His guidance along the way.

There are times when the celebration pulls from my memory events and milestones along the way. I’m humbled with such profound gratitude that I can’t sing, I can only shed tears of joy. I think it’s super valuable to reflect on where I’ve been. I think it’s wise to remember the milestones. When I remember and reflect, I’m refueled to press on in my journey with the Lord.

Pressing On!
