Can’t Buy Me Love
This song was released in 1964, written by Paul McCartney & John Lennon and made famous by The Beatles. Paul McCartney spoke to the meaning behind the song. “The idea behind it was that all these material possessions are all very well, but they won’t buy me what I really want.” (Paul McCartney)
King Solomon says something very similar. This “song”/book about love has a strong finish speaking about this somewhat rare commodity called love. It is a most powerful and precious emotion. It can cause death and bring new life. It can be illusive and hard to find. It can’t always be contained. Love truly comes from within the Heart of Creator God. He is the Maker of love. He is the Sustainer of love. He is the Source of love. Check this out…
6 Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. 7 Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away. If one were to give all the wealth of one’s house for love, it would be utterly scorned. (Song of Solomon 8:6-7 NIV)
God is Love.
God loves me.
God loves for me to love others like He loves.
God loves without conditions.
God loves even when I don’t love Him back.
God’s love can’t be bought or sold; it is a gift.
God’s love brings all sorts of extra benefits to the party – His love is eternal NOT just temporary for life here on earth.
I just can’t properly describe love. I’m pursuing the Creator, Giver & Sustainer of love with all that I am. He has taught me volumes about love as I’ve walked with Him. I’m still learning today about this most amazing, exhaustive subject on the planet.
