Build My Life

I have the privilege of working with a great builder in my area. He is humble, smart, methodical, diligent, and honorable. He is also a Christ-follower. I’ve learned a lot about the building process since I started working with him and his family. In this post-pandemic economy, it’s tough to get building supplies at just about every stage of the build. Most recently, concrete is in shorter supply causing delay in the start of building.

There is a sequential order to building and it starts with the foundation (aka the slab). This is where the entire house sits, and the quality of the entire house is dependent upon the foundation. There are plans for the entire house but the foundation is first.

Jesus taught about building on a good foundation. He spoke about building my life instead of a building. Check this out….

24 “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. 25 Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. 26 But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. 27 When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”

28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 for he taught with real authority—quite unlike their teachers of religious law. (Matthew 7:24-29 NLT)

I want to know His Word.

I want to hear His Heart.

I want His Presence to permeate my life as I keep building. I’ve been building for years now and I still have more building to do.

And I will build my life upon your love, it is a firm foundation
And I will put my trust in you alone
And I will not be shaken (Build My Life by Passion)

I’m thankful for the Presence of God as I keep building my life. The Lord is the Builder and I’m the material used for building. He has my heart.  He has my life. I’m surrendered to Him.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
