Better & Better

welcome home written in colorful magent lettersI love it when things are good and then they become better and better. It’s a blessing to be a part of something that not only works out like it was planned, but actually works out better than planned. I believe walking with the Lord is like that. I know that my journey with Him is not without suffering and struggle. The majority of my journey with Him is richly rewarding as I try to hang out in His Presence.  Check this out….

How lovely is your dwelling-place,
    Lord Almighty!
My soul yearns, even faints,
    for the courts of the Lord;

my heart and my flesh cry out
    for the living God.
Even the sparrow has found a home,
    and the swallow a nest for herself,
    where she may have her young
 –
a place near your altar,
    Lord Almighty, my King and my God.
Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
    they are ever praising you.
Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
    whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
Hear my prayer, Lord God Almighty;
    listen to me, God of Jacob.
Look on our shield, O God;
    look with favor on your anointed one.
10 Better is one day in your courts
    than a thousand elsewhere;

I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
    than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
    the Lord bestows favor and honor;

no good thing does he withhold
    from those whose way of life is blameless.
12 Lord Almighty,
    blessed is the one who trusts in you. (Psalm 84:1-5;8-12 NIV)

I would rather scrub floors in the house of the Lord than to be the main manager in the house of the wicked. I don’t want to be found near the house of the wicked except to shine His light in that place. I want the favor of the Lord on me. I want my walk with the Lord to be blameless. I want to completely trust in Him for provision and direction. I want my journey with Him to speak louder than my words. I want my pilgrimage to be noticeable to Him. I want to trust Him completely with all that I am.

This song has blessed my heart for years. Better Is One Day by Matt Redman.

Pressing On!
Dwayne
