Answered Prayer

I believe in prayer. I believe that prayer calls upon the Power and Authority of God Himself to act on my behalf. I have seen Him answer some really bold and audacious prayers just like I asked. I’ve also seen Him not answer the prayers in the manner in which I asked.  I think God answers prayers with one of these three response: Yes, No & Maybe. (The “maybe” answer could also include “not yet”.)

I love Solomon’s prayer for wisdom, because it was an unselfish prayer. He was praying for wisdom to be a good leader of the people. He wanted to serve well as king. He also wanted to honor the legacy of his Dad, King David.  The Lord answered Solomon’s prayer and the wisdom from God showed up quickly in his reign as king. Check this out….

When Hiram received Solomon’s message, he was very pleased and said, “Praise the Lord today for giving David a wise son to be king of the great nation of Israel.”

12 So the Lord gave wisdom to Solomon, just as he had promised. And Hiram and Solomon made a formal alliance of peace. (1 Kings 5:7,12 NLT)

I would rather people notice the Lord’s wisdom in me, than to just notice me. I want to follow the Lord fully so that others may know of His love, mercy and grace that I am a huge recipient of.  I want the Lords wisdom to be dripping from my words and my interactions with others. I want my words to be seasoned with His Grace and love. I want the posture of my heart to consistently be teachable and moldable by the Lord. I want His Word to settle deep into my soul, so that my responses to the world display His Word and His Love to the World.  I am still praying bold, audacious prayers. I am praying over my family, my church, my community, my state, our nation and the world.  I think people everywhere should pray and call upon the Lord. The process of praying changes me. The Lord is the One Who answers my prayers and sometimes He makes me part of the answer.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
