Work With My Hands
I use my hands for all types of things…..
to type this journal entry
to put food in my mouth
to get dressed
to put my contacts in
to brush my teeth
to comb my hair
to drive my car
to open doors
-this list could go on and on. The works of my hands are vast. They are probably the single most important components of my body that are not “life threatening” if I don’t have them.
The Lord will bless the work of my hands. He wants my life and work to bring honor to Him. Therefore, I need to be aware of what my hands are doing and make myself useful for Him. Isaiah speaks to the restoration of Israel’s people in much the same way. Check this out….
21 They will build houses and dwell in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit. 22 No longer will they build houses and others live in them, or plant and others eat. For as the days of a tree, so will be the days of my people; my chosen ones will long enjoy the work of their hands. (Isaiah 65:21-22 NIV)
I want to walk in the Lord’s way and let the work of my hand reflect that. I believe that God is honored when the work of my hands helps others. I also thing it makes the work I do for my family more significant when I also do work on behalf of others.
I’m sure thankful for my hands. I’m thankful that I can use them bless the Lord and others too!
Pressing On! Dwayne
