Who Me?
I once won a drawing for a door prize. I don’t think I could ever win the lottery. I’m pretty sure I’d have to play the lottery to win the lottery. I have been blessed by others saying kind words about me. I was recently honored by the local board of REALTORS as REALTOR of the year. There are times when I’m speechless to think I could be chosen and honored. The Lord chooses me every day. He honors me every day with His Presence in my life. He gives me counsel every day. I’m just a regular guy living in the country side of West Georgia and the Creator of the Universe cares about me and hangs out with me. It is a crazy thought. King David must have had a similar “Who me?” moment. Check this out….
1 The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.
The world and all its people belong to him.
2 For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas
and built it on the ocean depths.
3 Who may climb the mountain of the Lord?
Who may stand in his holy place?
4 Only those whose hands and hearts are pure,
who do not worship idols
and never tell lies.
5 They will receive the Lord’s blessing
and have a right relationship with God their savior.
6 Such people may seek you
and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob. (Psalm 24:1-6 NLT)
I desperately want to keep my heart and hands pure before the Lord. I do struggle with idol worship – there are idols in my heart that have to be taken down. I recently heard that what I fear actually reveals an idol inside my heart. I love my family profoundly and I am still learning to trust the Lord with them. I recently read an excellent book called “Through The Eyes Of A Lion – Facing Impossibly Pain, Finding Incredible Power” by Levi Lusko. This book started helping me trust the Lord with my family. I am still processing some of the thoughts and teachings from this young pastor in Montana.
I want to live my life in faith, not fear. I want to keep trusting the Lord with everything I have and every single part of my life. I don’t want to be paralyzed by fear of health, wealth or family. I simply want my one single life to honor Him and then ripple out into the lives of anyone and everyone who knows me or comes in contact with me. Who Me? Yes me – I am a child of the Most High God and He loves me and He promises me an abundant life here and an eternal life after this!
Pressing On!
