Wait

Busy business person juggles time clockTo me this word means patience. It means staying where I’m at until something else happens. I have to confess; I’m pretty bad at waiting. I’m not a patient shopper, although I’m improving on this one. I hate traffic jams. I’m not real patient when the Lord tells me to wait either. He has a plan and I’m in it. I must learn to operate in His realm of time instead of demanding everything happen when I want it to happen. Check this out….

I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,

and in his word I put my hope.
6 I wait for the Lord

more than watchmen wait for the morning,

more than watchmen wait for the morning.
7 Israel, put your hope in the Lord,

for with the Lord is unfailing love

and with him is full redemption. (Psalm 130:5-7 NIV)

As I read the Word of God, I’m learning more about His heart and His timing and for me. I don’t always understand His timing, but I trust Him. I’m putting my hope for the future in His hands. I put my hope for eternity in His hands. I also trust Him to guide my steps in business. I need His Wisdom and discernment in all areas of my life.

I worked as a security guard while in college and I worked the night shift. I remember how long the nights seem and how hard it was at times to make it to the quitting time. I will wait upon the Lord and He will not disappoint me. He is always “spot on” with His timing. Waiting on Him is my part.

Pressing On!
Dwayne
