Wait

Making a planI have established many times over that I’m not a patient person. I’m not naturally patient with my wife, my children or others – I have to work hard to wait patiently. (That probably explains why I’m not good at shopping with my wife.) Patience is a virtue that I aspire to. I’ve often heard the Lord tell me to wait on something and it’s not fun.

Jesus told His disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit and it appears to me they did wait and wow did something big happen. I’m learning that when the Lord says “wait”, He’s got a very good reason for it. Check this out….

7 He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:7-8 NIV)

I sometimes need to wait for the Power of God to move through me and in me. I don’t need to take charge on my own with anything. I need to wait for the Lord to make His moves through me on His timetable – not mine.

With the Holy Spirit in me, I have wisdom that I’ve never known. I also have discernment that is beyond my abilities. I have the deep love and mercy of the Father. After having the Presence of the Holy Spirit living in me – I can’t imagine my walk without Him.  I want to always wait on His directions and His plans then I can move.

Pressing On!
Dwayne
