Veil

When I hear the word veil, I usually think of a bride ready to meet her husband, because often they veil their face. If the bride is wearing a veil she can only see through the veil, unless of course, she removes it. In another sense, we all know what it’s like to have veiled vision. For example, I’m going to a football game this Friday night to watch my son’s high school team plan. My ability to see the game objectively is “veiled” a bit, because I know some of the players on the team and I know some of their parents. My ability to be objective is “veiled” by my knowledge and relationships.  Paul talked to the church at Corinth about how the old testament actually served as a veil to many. Check this out….

I want my eyes open to see the Lord clearly and hear Him speak into my life. I need to remove the veil of trying to be popular and liked by everyone. I need to let the Lord continue to lead and move in my life. I need to be open to His leading and His Spirit dwelling in my heart. I want the freedom that comes from knowing the Lord fully and walking with Him fully.  I want His Spirit to proved clarity and daily direction for my life. I don’t want veiled vision. I want to know Christ and make Him known to others.
