Too Difficult
There are times when I come upon a task that is simply too difficult. I remember climbing a rock wall for the first time and it required a lot of upper body strength and I gave out before reaching the top. I was so frustrated because I can’t stand to fail. I can’t stand to have something I set out to do fall on its face. I have since learned my limitations. The older I get the clearer those get. It blessed me to hear the word of the Lord in Zechariah, that nothing is too difficult for the Lord. Check this out….
2 This is what the Lord All-Powerful says: “I have a very strong love for Jerusalem. My strong love for her is like a fire burning in me.” 3 This is what the Lord says: “I will return to Jerusalem and live in it. Then it will be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the Lord All-Powerful will be called the Holy Mountain.” 4 This is what the Lord All-Powerful says: “Old men and old women will again sit along Jerusalem’s streets, each carrying a cane because of age. 5 And the streets will be filled with boys and girls playing.” 6 This is what the Lord All-Powerful says: “Those who are left alive then may think it is too difficult to happen, but it is not too difficult for me,” says the Lord All-Powerful. (Zechariah 8:2-6 NCV)The people of Judah & Israel had been scattered to many nations due to their punishment for living such decadent lives and frustrating God Who gave them their city. He even dwelt among them. He promised punishment for bad behavior and then promptly delivered. Then restoration came on the horizon from the Lord. He noted that while it looks too difficult or impossible; NOTHING IS TOO DIFFICULT OR IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD!
When my world goes sideways and becomes unstable – He is the Rock I hold on to. The Lord is never worried. He is never concerned. He can do anything at anytime. He is the Truth. He is the Way to LIFE. He is LIFE! I will put my hope and trust in God and NOT in my ability, talent or work ethic. All those characteristics are important, but they don’t get anywhere near the significance of trusting God with the minute details of my life as well as the biggest of decisions I face.
Nothing is too difficult for the Lord! – NOTHING!
Pressing On! Dwayne
