Timing
This is a variable that is sometimes difficult to predict or produce. I think back to so many relationships over the years that were formed because timing was spot on. I can also recall many relationships that went sideways because the timing wasn’t right.
Timing is the synchronization of multiple events or activities that create a harmony relative to the other moving parts of a production or related events or even relationships.
I have served as a REALTOR to some wonderful people simply because of the timing of another event.
Solomon wrote the Song of Songs about a love relationship and it’s complexity and timing. Check this out….
I slept, but my heart was awake,
when I heard my lover knocking and calling:
“Open to me, my treasure, my darling,
my dove, my perfect one.
My head is drenched with dew,
my hair with the dampness of the night.”
3 But I responded,
“I have taken off my robe.
Should I get dressed again?
I have washed my feet.
Should I get them soiled?”
4 My lover tried to unlatch the door,
and my heart thrilled within me.
5 I jumped up to open the door for my love,
and my hands dripped with perfume.
My fingers dripped with lovely myrrh
as I pulled back the bolt.
6 I opened to my lover,
but he was gone!
My heart sank.
I searched for him
but could not find him anywhere.
I called to him,
but there was no reply.(Song of Solomon 4:2-6 NLT)
I want the Lord’s timing in my life. I’ve seen the Lord synchronize complicated events to make something beautiful. I don’t always understand His timing and I don’t always understand His management of events. I have learned to trust Him. He makes everything beautiful in His time. He builds me and shapes me for who He wants me to become when He’s ready. I must lean into God’s timing for all of my life, not just the parts that I can seemingly control. I surrender control of all of my life to Him.
Pressing On!
