Ticked Off
This is a short way of saying a person is mad. There are similar ways to say this. I think everyone who has ever lived has been “ticked off”, mad or frustrated at some point. It’s not a bad thing to be frustrated and mad. If I act on my frustration and anger in a bad way, then it can be a bad scene. I believe that feelings and emotions are pretty neutral, it’s how I act on my feelings or emotions that count. I have to take responsibility for my actions.
In Ezekiel, the Lord is really frustrated with some of the nations. He doesn’t back up or back down. He has Ezekiel call them out and tell them what He’s about to do. He has punished His people and now He’s in a protective mode over His people. He lets the threatening nations know that He’s about to take them out. Check this out…
22 I will execute judgment on him with plague and bloodshed; I will pour down torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him. 23 And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.” (Ezekiel 38:22-23 NIV)
I want the Lord on my side or I should say: “I want to be on His side”. He is Powerful and Mighty To Save. He can Protect and Provide. He can defend me against any thing or any one. There is no place that anyone can hide from Him. In fact, I believe the safest place to be in with Him. He’s reminded me that He is my Protector and Provider. If the Lord is for me, I shouldn’t fear what anyone else thinks they can do. I don’t ever want to frustrate Him or tick Him off – I want to respect Him and honor Him. My obedience does exactly that.
Pressing On!
