The WOW Factor
I love being “wowed” for the most part. There are some surprises that are a bit annoying. I love it when a person who is serving me or my family “over delivers”. I am impressed when someone goes above and beyond their job description or “call of duty” to serve with extraordinary skill and care. There are doctors and nurses whom I’ve seen in the past do this. There are police officers, firefighters and other public servants who really deliver the “wow factor”. This “wow factor” can be seen in many areas of life. I’ve seen the “wow factor” that God delivers. I’ve seen Him show up and show off His Power and His Presence. In the Revelation to John, the “Wow Factor” was certainly present and I can really imagine John trying to find just the right words to describe what He was seeing. Check this out….
2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” 5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” 6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7 Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. (Revelation 21:2-7 NIV)
The Power and the Presence of God is a game-changer. He gives me a hope and a future that is most definitely a “wow”. I have experienced His Power and His Presence here on earth in this life. I know He is Present and Involved in my life. I can talk to Him and seek His Council on each and every decision I face. I also believe He is preparing a place for His family (followers of Jesus) to spend eternity with Him. I believe that to be in His Presence in Heaven will be beyond the Wow Factor. Sometimes words simply fail to adequately describe what I’m feeling or experiencing. I believe that Heaven will be all of that and more.
I want to notice His Presence and His Power in my life today. I don’t want to miss anything He’s doing. Because He lives in me and works through me – I want others to experience the “Wow factor” when they see God in me. I don’t want them to be impressed with me, but I want them to be impressed with the Presence of God in me. He is the epitome of “Wow”!
Pressing On! Dwayne
