The Big Reveal
If I were to start off saying something about a secret that was about to be revealed, there would be lots of interest and “leaning in” to listen to what was being revealed. Revealing carries with it the implication that it has not been known before now. I love to reveal or unveil new ideas and concepts to my team of REALTORS at Metro West. Jesus speaks about reveal and it is connected to how I first met Him. He’s praying to the Father on behalf of His disciples. Check this out…
6 “I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. 7 Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. 8 For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. 9 I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. 10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. 11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one. (John 17:6-11 NIV)Jesus revealed the Father to His disciples. He revealed the Father’s heart to His disciples. He revealed the Father’s love to His disciples. He revealed the Father to them and they revealed the Father to the world. That’s how I know the Father. It came through the testimony of their lives and their teachings. After I get to know the Father, it is clear to me that I’m to reveal Him to others. I should reveal Him in my speech, my actions, my thoughts, my regular walking around life.
It is my prayer this morning that I can reveal the God Who created the world and loved the world so much that He sent His One and Only Son to save us. I want to reveal Him wherever I am and whom ever I’m around. I may or my not have to speak words to reveal Him.
