The Battles
I have faced many battles in my life. Sometimes the battle is deeply personal and not obvious to those around me. At other times, the battle is quite obvious. I believe everyone faces battles during their life – some are giant battles, and some are small battles. I am still learning that Lord will go before me in battle. He is beside me and He’s got my back. When I’m facing a battle, I’m still learning to make sure He’s with me to fight for me.
Jonathan, the son of King Saul decided to go to the enemy camp and see what they were doing. He took his armor bearer with him. He was determined to make something happen. Check this out…..
6 “Let’s go across to the outpost of those pagans,” Jonathan said to his armor bearer. “Perhaps the Lord will help us, for nothing can hinder the Lord. He can win a battle whether he has many warriors or only a few!”
7 “Do what you think is best,” the armor bearer replied. “I’m with you completely, whatever you decide.”
8 “All right, then,” Jonathan told him. “We will cross over and let them see us. 9 If they say to us, ‘Stay where you are or we’ll kill you,’ then we will stop and not go up to them. 10 But if they say, ‘Come on up and fight,’ then we will go up. That will be the Lord’s sign that he will help us defeat them.” (1 Samuel 14:6-10 NLT)
Jonathan ended up getting called up to fight and he and his armor bearer took out twenty Philistines. The Lord threw the Philistine camp into confusion and Israel won a great battle that day.
I was reminded of just how strong the Presence of God is when I face various battles. I have been in battles where I was desperate for the Lord to fight for me and fight with me. He fights battles using unconventional means for sure. I tend to think in one dimension, but the Lord has every angle covered.
It may look like I’m surrounded, but I’m surrounded by You.
This is how I fight my battles. My victory is in Jesus’ name!
Surrounded (Fight My Battles) by Upperroom
I’m not going to quit or run from a battle because the Presence of the Lord helps me discern the way through battles and struggles. I’m following His battle plan which often calls me to lay down my weapons and battle plans. The battles that I face belong to the Lord.
Pressing On!
