Thank You
These two words carry some kindness and gratitude packed inside. These two words acknowledge that someone else blessed me. I learned at an early age to say “thank you” when someone did something nice for me. It can be really simple, like filling my glass with water at a restaurant, or as big as blessing me with a big gift. Those two simple words express something much bigger – a grateful heart. Check this out…
11 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy[b] met him. They stood at a distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!” 14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed. 15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan. 17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.” (Luke 17:11-19 NIV)There are times when someone has blessed me so big that these two words seem so very small – I will thank them anyway. I need to thank my friends for being my friends. I need to thank those who help me at work. I need to thank the person who lets me go in front of them. I really need to cultivate a thankful heart toward others.
I need to remember what it’s like to be lost and thank the Lord that He saved me. I need to be thankful today – all day – everyday!
