Teaching Conversation

I love engaging in conversation with others. I love hearing their perspective most of the time. I really like their opinions as long as they agree with mine. 🙂 I think conversations are great ways to learn and gain insight into all sorts of topics and ideas.  Jesus taught with stories known as parables, but He taught one of His most profound teachings in a conversation.  The conversation is between a Pharisee, a teacher of the law and Jesus. It’s a private conversation, not open to the crowd. The Pharisee, was Nicodemus, and he really wanted to learn the truth about what Jesus was teaching. Check this out…

 Jesus gave this man incredible insight into why He came and the situation into which He came. This “teaching conversation” turned into one of the most quoted passages of the Bible. Jesus was teaching about the heart of the Father through a private conversation with a teacher of the law. This warms my heart to Nicodemus, who really seeks out Jesus to understand His teachings and process it. I’m sure He had seen the conflict between the teachers of the law and Jesus. Nicodemus comes at the end of the day for some backstory from Jesus and gets the real big story about God’s amazing love.  I want my conversations to be rich with God’s love. I want to have more conversations with the Lord to get to know His heart even more.
