Stunned

I am generally not surprised at something so much that I fall down. I’ve been stunned at peoples out-of-control behavior.  One of my favorite sayings when I’m shocked is: “you could push me over with a feather”.  There are people who thrive on “shock talk” and “stunning behavior” to get a certain response from others. I’m not sure what response the Lord was looking for from John when He reveals Himself. John had just said that it was The Lords Day (Sunday) and he was in the Spirit. He heard a voice and turned to see where the voice was coming from or who it was. He was stunned at what his eyes saw. Check this out…

I want to see Jesus. I want to know Him. I want to see the scars in His hand. I want to have a conversation with Him about the things He felt when He lived here.  I know that I would be stunned if I saw Him face to face.

After thinking on this a bit – I have seen Him. I’ve been stunned to see Him too. I’ve seen Him in the birth of a child. I’ve seen Him in the death of a Godly friend. I’ve seen Him in the midst of a horrible divorce. I’ve seen Him in the midst of suffering and pain. I should probably be stunned if I don’t see Him. His Presence is all around. He reveals Himself to me and He speaks to me. My part is listening and watching.
