Steady & Strong
My truck just turned over 200,000 miles recently and it’s still going strong! I purchased the truck about 8 years ago and it was used then. I have driven it nearly every day since. I was thinking the other day that I’ve been blessed with such a reliable machine. I could have traded it in a while ago, but I like it. It drives well and it suits my needs. I paid it off several years ago as Clark Howard would advise and I try hard to keep it well maintained.
It may lay down tomorrow, but it’s been steady and strong. I decided that if it were to need a new transmission or engine – it would get one. I feel as if I know the whole truck well. I compared that to my Real Estate career. I want to do regular maintenance in my professional field. I want to learn new ideas, and feed my brain to keep me fresh and workable in a changing market. I want to be steady and strong, no matter how old I get or how long I’ve been a Realtor. I want to keep studying the latest trends in the market as well as the latest technology to research trends and educate my clients.
In short, I want to be a high mileage, well-maintained work horse of a REALTOR – just like my truck!
