Steadfast

Human heart anatomy from a healthy bodyThis is a word that I don’t use regularly. I think I understand it’s meaning. It carries with it “resolutely or dutifully firm and unwavering”. This is how I want to be in my pursuit of God’s Heart.  I want to be consistent in my pursuit. I want to be steady in my pursuit. I love how King David verbalizes being steadfast. Check this out….

1 My heart, O God, is steadfast;

    I will sing and make music with all my soul.
2 Awake, harp and lyre!

    I will awaken the dawn.
3 I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;

    I will sing of you among the peoples.
4 For great is your love, higher than the heavens;

    your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;

   let your glory be over all the earth. (Psalm 108:1-5 NIV)

The Lord has a steadfast love for me. His love is beyond measure or description. When I think of how high the sky is and use that to describe His love, I still can’t get my head around the size of His love. It is simply beyond my minds comprehension.

I will keep steady and consistent (steadfast) in my hearts pursuit of God’s heart. I want to understand His heart and allow Him to shape my heart to be like His.  I believe my pursuit of steadfast heart begins in the Word of God.

Pressing On!
Dwayne
