Songwriters

I have a special place in my heart for people who write great songs. They have a gift that blesses me. I am able to sing a song they’ve written from their heart to God and I can “own” that song as well and sing it to the Lord. It takes talent and/or giftedness to write that kind of song. I’ve written songs before that I thought were really good at the time, but I think they were really meant for just me. I also think that sometimes the exercise of writing the song (the discipline of it) may just be the point. I look forward to singing some of my favorite songs in heaven or just some of the songs written by David, Moses among others.  John records a song that was sang as a victory over the evil one. There are songs that stir my heart like nothing that is written. I believe that we will worship using songs like this in heaven. When I come to terms with what God has done and is still doing in my life – I want to sing a song that blesses Him and expresses my love and appreciation for Him.
