Sing & Bow

Songwriter with a guitarI love to sing. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t sing. Singing was just something we did at home, church, all sorts of places. As I’ve gotten older, I realize the significance of singing to the Lord. I’ve learned to express my heart in ways I couldn’t do with out music added in. I believe the Lord created music.  I love so many of the Psalms because it’s obvious they were put to music. When I come before the Lord I usually am singing and kneeling. Check this out…

 1 Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;

    let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving

    and extol him with music and song.
3 For the Lord is the great God,

    the great King above all gods.
4 In his hand are the depths of the earth,

    and the mountain peaks belong to him.
5 The sea is his, for he made it,

    and his hands formed the dry land.
6 Come, let us bow down in worship,

    let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;
7 for he is our God

    and we are the people of his pasture,

    the flock under his care. (Psalm 95:1-7 NIV)

I really want to sing and kneel every day. I want to sing songs to honor Him. I want to kneel/bow before him and submit to His Will and His Way. I learn so much about all of the above by reading His Word.

Music is a huge part of our culture. I hear music everywhere. Not all music honors Him, of course, but music is sort of a language all it’s own. Bowing down is a reflection of my heart submitted to Him. It is an act of worship and honor to the Lord.

Pressing On!
