Selfie – OLD vs. NEW (Part 2)
The “self-made photo” called the “selfie” has taken social media by storm. I’m not much of a fan. I was born with a big nose and the “selfie” makes me even more aware of just how big my nose is. (LOL) The Camera angle is almost always too close and often is not very flattering. (Note – the pic here is not a selfie – the angle is much better – but I still have a nice BIG nose!)
In the first part of this particular blog post, I spoke about taking off the old and making room for the new. After getting “my self” in order – I’m ready to import the new and Christ-like character qualities. Check this out….
12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Colossians 3:12-17 NIV)
The “selfie” I see today, should look quite different than the one a few years or months ago. My “selfie” today should reflect my journey with the Lord. My life is really different daily after studying His Word and applying it to my life. I want to represent the Lord and reflect the Lord in my everyday life. I want to clothe myself with His Character and have His Spirit living in me all the rest of my days here on earth!
Pressing On!
