Romance
This word brings to my mind my relationship with my wife. This word brings mystery and excitement into our relationship. I was better at romance prior to our marriage. Now it seems that it has taken a back seat to life. Just because that is how it is, doesn’t mean that is how is should be. In reading Song of Solomon, the King steps up his romance game. In fact chapter 7 is rated PG13 for sure. Check this out….
11 Come, my beloved, let us go to the countryside, let us spend the night in the villages. 12 Let us go early to the vineyards to see if the vines have budded, if their blossoms have opened, and if the pomegranates are in bloom – there I will give you my love. (Song of Solomon 7:11-12 NIV)
I really enjoy hanging out with my family. I really like spending time with just my wife going places and seeing things. In fact we talk of one day traveling the country on an RV trip because we love to camp. I’m reminded that as we grow old together our love grows much deeper and wider. It’s really hard to explain how I love her now compared to how I loved her during our dating and early marriage.
I believe that God wired me to love my wife. I believe that He created us as human being for deep abiding love and commitment to another. He said it wasn’t good for man to be alone and He created woman. I’m still learning to be a better husband to Tina and a better Dad to my kids. I do believe that one of the best gifts I can give to my kids is a healthy, vibrant marriage for them to see and know. I really have to protect my relationship with my wife because the evil one wants to tear it down. The enemy knows the value of a strong vibrant family.
My wife is a Proverbs 31 woman and my love for her is growing deeper with each passing day we share life together. I’m sure that I can improve greatly in many areas and I intend to keep learning how to romance my bride. I’m thankful to the Lord for her.
Pressing On! Dwayne
