Ripple Effects – Amazing Change
I have seen people who are sick become well and it’s quite a contrast. I’ve never been close to a blind person when they received their sight, but I can imagine that it would be loud, and the word “WOW” would be used quite a bit! I’ve seen people who had to use a wheelchair for a season or a walker, but then they recover and walk normal again. I’ve never seen someone crippled from birth who could walk immediately because they were healed. This is what Jesus did. People came to Him and they were changed immediately. Check this out….
14 The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them. 15 But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple courts, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they were indignant.
16 “Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him.
“Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read,
“‘From the lips of children and infants
you, Lord, have called forth your praise’?”
17 And he left them and went out of the city to Bethany, where he spent the night. (Matthew 21:14-17 NLT)
When Jesus changes a life, like the cripple or the lame, there are ripple effects all around. There are parents who are thrilled that their kid is healed. There are friends who are speechless and grateful. Sometime there are spouses that are beyond grateful. I can imagine the story they tell the rest of their life about how Jesus changed everything when He gave them sight or healed their dysfunctional bones.
There are ripple effects to sin that stretch for generations.
There are ripple effects to healed hearts that also stretch for generations.
I want the change that Jesus brought to my life to reach my children, my children’s children and so on. My life journey with Jesus has been going for several years, with a few “screw-ups” on my part. He is relentless with His Grace and Mercy that heals my soul again and again. I simply can’t always find the right words to express my gratitude to Him for the healing and hope that He brings to my life. There are more ripple effects to come for sure – I want them to come from the growth in my heart from His Presence.
Pressing On!
