This word implies trust and confidence. If I rely on someone, I’m trusting them or I have confidence in their ability to help. I rely on friends and family to talk too. I rely on the leaders of our country to make wise and discerning choices concerning all citizens. I rely on people and things all the time. I think it’s a synonym of depend.
