Press On!
For the past few years I have written a journal/blog that comes from my personal journey through The Word. I am certainly not a theologian, but I’m a student of The Word. I want to know more and more about The Lord as I journey through His Word. This morning as I’m reading the book of Hosea, I hear the two words that I’ve signed off with since I began journaling/blogging from my journey. Check this out….
1 ‘Come, let us return to the Lord.
He has torn us to pieces
but he will heal us;
he has injured us
but he will bind up our wounds.
2 After two days he will revive us;
on the third day he will restore us,
that we may live in his presence.
3 Let us acknowledge the Lord;
let us press on to acknowledge him.
As surely as the sun rises,
he will appear;
he will come to us like the winter rains,
like the spring rains that water the earth.’ (Hosea 6:1-3 NIV)
I have deserved punishment from the Lord, but received Grace. I know what it’s like to make painful mistakes and then see Him restore me. I need restoration very often because I have scars and blunders need to be addressed by His Mercy and His Grace. He is right there on time every time. I want to acknowledge Him every day of my life. I want to PRESS ON in my pursuit of His heart. He is faithful in His pursuit of me even when I’m not faithful in pursuit of Him. I don’t have any intentions of quitting this pursuit of Him. I want to know Him more and more. The Apostle Paul said it well in his letter to the Philippian church. Check this out….
13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining towards what is ahead, 14 I press on towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenwards in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13-14 NIV)
Pressing On!
