Present In Hard Times
I’ve experienced my share of hard times and suffering. I know that there are those who’ve had a harder time and experienced more suffering than I have. It seems no matter how hard the road facing me, there are others who have to face even harder circumstances. I am still learning to lean upon the Lord in every circumstance – especially the hard ones. He wants me to lean on Him even in good circumstances. I’m learning to be thankful no matter my circumstances or whatever situation I find myself in.
Isaiah lays out some promises for Israel – a Redeemer is coming. Restoration is going to happen because The Lord chose them. He chooses me too! Check this out….
1 But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you.
O Israel, the one who formed you says,
“Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you.
I have called you by name; you are mine.
2 When you go through deep waters,
I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty,
you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression,
you will not be burned up;
the flames will not consume you.
3 For I am the Lord, your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
You have been chosen to know me, believe in me,
and understand that I alone am God.
There is no other God—
there never has been, and there never will be.
11 I, yes I, am the Lord,
and there is no other Savior. (Isaiah 43:1-3a; 10b-11NLT)
I want to walk in confidence that He is with me every moment of every day.
I want to reaffirm my commitment to follow the Lord every day.
He invites me to come before Him empty of my gifts and abilities. He is beyond amazing!
