Presence Found
I love people who are present when I’m with them. I believe that they want me to be present when I’m with them. You know what I mean, when you’re with someone who can’t put their phone down and just be present. I’m beginning to think that distraction is a disease caused by all the buzzing and humming of our gadget notifications. To be present wherever I am takes deliberate work on my part.
I love David’s charge to Solomon as David starts the succession plan of Solomon being the next King of Israel. David had wanted to build the temple, but the Lord told David that he had been a warrior and had shed lots of blood. Solomon would be a man of peace. His charge to Solomon spoke to my heart. Check this out…
11 “Now, my son, may the Lord be with you and give you success as you follow his directions in building the Temple of the Lord your God. 12 And may the Lord give you wisdom and understanding, that you may obey the Law of the Lord your God as you rule over Israel. 13 For you will be successful if you carefully obey the decrees and regulations that the Lord gave to Israel through Moses. Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or lose heart!
19 Now seek the Lord your God with all your heart and soul. Build the sanctuary of the Lord God so that you can bring the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant and the holy vessels of God into the Temple built to honor the Lord’s name.” (1 Chronicles 22:11-13,19 NLT)
I believe the Presence of God is found in seeking God.
I believe in seeking God, I can find the Peace of God.
I believe that success in my journey with the Lord is measured by being obedient to Him.
I believe that I receive inspiration and motivation in His Presence and being present with Him.
I will stop typing (aka talking) and be with Him.
Pressing On!
