Powerful

Words have such great power to describe and direct. It is important for their meaning to be understood and grasped. If I don’t understand the language, then I certainly won’t understand the meaning of the words. I’ve learned that first hand.

The Word of God is powerful in describing God Himself. Through out His Word, I see what He does and what He says and the Creation Power that He holds.  No other god can Create, Sustain and display Power like the Lord God Almighty. He is unparalleled in every way.  Check this out….

 15 “The Lord made the earth by his power.


    He used his wisdom to build the world


    and his understanding to stretch out the skies.

16 When he thunders, the waters in the skies roar.


    He makes clouds rise in the sky all over the earth.


He sends lightning with the rain


    and brings out the wind from his storehouses.

17 “People are so stupid and know so little.


    Goldsmiths are made ashamed by their idols,


because those statues are only false gods.


    They have no breath in them.

18 They are worth nothing; people make fun of them.


    When they are judged, they will be destroyed.

19 But God, who is Jacob’s Portion, is not like the idols.


    He made everything,
and he chose Israel to be his special people.


    The Lord All-Powerful is his name. (Jeremiah 51:15-19 NCV)

I believe words can only go so far is trying to describe God. He is multi-faceted and detailed beyond description. He is more powerful than the word powerful can describe. He is oh so gentle, kind and full of grace…His Power is under control and demonstrated by His amazing love. I wish I could find some words that might describe Him. I can speak of what I know of Him. I’ve experienced His Power, His Love and His Presence in my life. I love Him – He loved me first!
