Potter & Clay
I loved art class in high school when we started working with clay. It seems like I could take a lump of clay and make into anything I wanted to – I made a bowl. I think it’s the easiest thing to make.
I can’t imagine some of the intricate details professions artist’s included in their productions. I was reminded that how this picture of clay and the hands of the artist works.
– the clay doesn’t talk back (I shouldn’t talk back to my Creator.)
– the clay is not worth much until it’s made into something (Without Him I
am nothing.)
– My Creator makes me valuable by making me into someone helpful.
My perspective should be to trust the Lord with the big details as well as the little details of my life. He has charge of everything and He will mold me and shape me. Check this out…
8 Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand. 9 Do not be angry beyond measure, Lord; do not remember our sins for ever. Oh, look upon us we pray, for we are all your people.(Isaiah 64:8-9 NIV)
I am made by God for His purpose.
I am loved by God as one of His kids.
He is my Creator and I’m simply the clay in His hands!
