Ponder
This word means to consider something deeply, thoroughly & thoughtfully. I do probably ponder more things than I realize throughout my day. I probably wouldn’t use that exact word to describe my “pondering”. I want to be a thorough thinker. I want to show patience and understanding and that often requires time to think thoroughly and process a lot of information. I want to continually ponder thoughts of God. I want to think about Him. I want to notice Him throughout my day. I want to be thoughtful of others. I want to be helpful in the right way to others. I came across this word “ponder” in the my reading this morning. Check this out…
2 Great are the works of the Lord;
they are pondered by all who delight in them.
3 Glorious and majestic are his deeds,
and his righteousness endures forever.
4 He has caused his wonders to be remembered;
the Lord is gracious and compassionate.
7 The works of his hands are faithful and just;
all his precepts are trustworthy.
8 They are established for ever and ever,
enacted in faithfulness and uprightness.
9 He provided redemption for his people;
he ordained his covenant forever—
holy and awesome is his name.
10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
all who follow his precepts have good understanding.
To him belongs eternal praise. (Psalm 111:2-4, 7-10 NIV)
It’s almost too much to ponder when I try to wrap my head around all that the Lord has done and all that He’s doing in my life and in our world. He doesn’t need a rest or a vacation. He is always Present. He is always Protecting. He is always Patient. He is always Loving. He is always Faithful. He is always full of Grace. He is always so Kind. I want to ponder the unfathomable ways and characteristics of The Lord. I will never run out of ways to ponder Him. I am humbled that He wants to know me and walk with me through my regular everyday life. He cares when I hurt or I’m troubled. I’m going to be pondering The Amazing God of Creation for the rest of my life!
Pressing On!
