Plans
I have been working on my calendar for next year. I have put a few important dates and planned events on my calendar. I like to put the things that are most important on the calendar first and then keep putting the other things on there. For example, we have been on a camping trip with friends, and we have planned another trip next year. I’ve learned over the years to make plans and keep a considerable loose grip on them. All my plans are subject to the Lord’s plans for me. I have a 10-day plan, a 10 Month plan and a 5-year plan – I want the Lord to be honored in all my plans.
Shortly after Jesus ascended to heaven, the apostles began teaching and preaching about Jesus being the Messiah that Jewish people had waited for so long. Their teaching and preaching caused quite a stir. The religious leaders arrested them and were preparing to punish them or even kill them to stop this movement. A wise leader reminded the counsel that if this is God’s plan, it couldn’t be stopped. Check this out…
38 “So my advice is, leave these men alone. Let them go. If they are planning and doing these things merely on their own, it will soon be overthrown. 39 But if it is from God, you will not be able to overthrow them. You may even find yourselves fighting against God!” (Acts 5:38-39 NLT)
I want every one of my plans to be subject the Lord’s plan. He sees things ahead that I can’t possibly see. He knows things that I can’t know or don’t know.
As I keep adding things to my calendar for next year, I’m reminded that everything I put on there is subject to the Lord’s Will and the Lord’s plan for me. I’m going to still plan. I’m going to still dream. I want my life to be squarely inside His plan and His will for me.
Pressing On!
