Paying It Forward
I heard so many positive comments about the movie that came out in the year 2000 called, “Pay It Forward”. The movie is about a young boy who tries to make the world a better place after the teacher gives him that chance. It is a concept that has been around since the Lord started speaking of eternity – the life after this life. King Solomon had it all. He had wealth beyond his wildest dreams. He had all that this life can bring and then some, but he realize that it was meaningless. Check this out…
11 But then I looked at what I had done, and I thought about all the hard work. Suddenly I realized it was useless, like chasing the wind. There is nothing to gain from anything we do here on earth. 24 The best that people can do is eat, drink, and enjoy their work. I saw that even this comes from God,25 because no one can eat or enjoy life without him.26 If people please God, God will give them wisdom, knowledge, and joy. But sinners will get only the work of gathering and storing wealth that they will have to give to the ones who please God. So all their work is useless, like chasing the wind. (Ecclesiastes 2:11, 24-26 NCV)Paying if forward will become my lifestyle when I realize that anything and everything I gain while I’m here on earth is worthless without God. This life is a “dress rehearsal” for eternal life that follows. I need to invest my life here on earth on things that matter in eternal terms NOT temporary, earthly terms. I found 50 simple things to pay it forward that can be found here.
I want to invest my life on things that have eternal significance. I don’t want to be so “heavenly bound, that I’m no earthly use to anyone.” I do want to make sure that I’m leaning toward eternity in everything I do while here on earth!
Pressing On! Dwayne
