Pay It Forward

I believe it’s a good practice to do good deeds to others without expecting anything in return. In other words, do the right thing because it’s the right thing to do. I believe that God in heaven sees our good deeds and service to others and He has a good memory when it comes to this.  Not every good deed I do results in a reward that is tangible and spendable. Serving others gives me a lot of self-satisfaction. I get so excited to see a family buy a home that will become the place where so many good memories are made. I love helping in that process.

 The guy who saved Jeremiah at the risk of his own life had paid it forward. The fall of Jerusalem at the hands of the Babylonians had begun. Jeremiah was spared. Check this out….

 When I honor God with my choices today, I’m paying it forward.

I heard a great quote recently that said, “The stories I tell when I’m old will be based on the choices I make today”.  I believe that I should live today like it’s my last day….like the day I will meet the Lord face to face. Then I will choose wisely the things I give my time and attention to.  This passage blessed me because this “little known” guy did something bold and life-saving for Jeremiah and God rewarded him with his own life. It sure makes me think of how valuable serving someone today can become tomorrow.

If I’m never noticed for serving, I should still serve, because God notices.
