Open My Eyes
I have been wearing glasses for several years now. I think it was maybe 10 years ago that I was “promoted” to bi-focal lenses. Those are not super fun. Vision is something that often changes with age and not everyone has the same issues. I see people who wear glasses only to read and then I know others who can read without glasses but can’t see the tree just outside the window.
Our vision is twofold – there is physical vision and then there is spiritual vision. Physical vision is what I see my physical eyes. Spiritual vision is a bit more subjective and it’s what I see with my eyes of faith.
Elisha was being sought by the king of Aram. He was frustrating the plans of the king by revealing his every move to the king of Israel. The king of Aram learns where Elisha was and took his army to capture him. Check this out…..
13 “Go, find out where he is,” the king ordered, “so I can send men and capture him.” The report came back: “He is in Dothan.” 14 Then he sent horses and chariots and a strong force there. They went by night and surrounded the city.
15 When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked.
16 “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
17 And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. (2 Kings 6:13-17 NLT)
I want to see what the Lord sees.
I want to see where the Lord is working.
I want to see the spiritual realm as well as the physical realm.
I want to see the Lord’s work behind the scenes in our world.
I want to grow in my trust of the Lord and His willingness to fight on my behalf.
I will continue to pray for the favor of God up my family, my Jesus family, my business and me. I would rather have the favor of God and His invisible power than to command the strongest army in the world.
I want my vision with eyes of faith to improve as I keep walking in the light of His Word.
Pressing On!
