My Hope
I am generally optimistic and hopeful. I don’t always see life as “sunny side up”, but I do try hard to find the good that come out of most any situation. I also try to find the good in most everyone. Jesus saw past a person’s exterior. He saw their heart. As I read this morning about what Isaiah was saying about Jesus many years before He came, my heart was moved to know Him more. Check this out….
15 But Jesus knew what they were planning. So he left that area, and many people followed him. He healed all the sick among them, 16 but he warned them not to reveal who he was. 17 This fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah concerning him:
18 “Look at my Servant, whom I have chosen.
He is my Beloved, who pleases me.
I will put my Spirit upon him,
and he will proclaim justice to the nations.
19 He will not fight or shout
or raise his voice in public.
20 He will not crush the weakest reed
or put out a flickering candle.
Finally he will cause justice to be victorious.
21 And his name will be the hope
of all the world.” (Matthew 12:18-21 NLT)
Jesus is the Hope of the world.
He’s a Healer.
He’s a Counselor.
He’s a Teacher.
He’s a Servant.
He’s a Friend.
He’s a Savior.
I can’t imagine my life without Him in it. He gives me peace and perspective all the time. He gives me counsel and He teaches me so patiently. I’m so thankful that I can call Him my friend. He’s the Hope of the world, but His Presence in me is real and shapes my perspective about everyone and everything.
Pressing On!
