Molded

I love working with clay. I also love watching someone who is super talented in molding and shaping things. It’s fun to see something created. I often marvel at the creative genius of The Lord and how He created something from nothing. He is the Ultimate Creative Genius.

As I was reading about how Solomon assembled all of the artisans and talented people to build the temple and furnish the temple, I was amazed at the resources used for this building. There was no expense spared. They created molds to make the bronze utensils, bowls, etc… Check this out…

Huram-abi made all these things of burnished bronze for the Temple of the Lord, just as King Solomon had directed. 17 The king had them cast in clay molds in the Jordan Valley between Succoth and Zarethan. 18 Solomon used such great quantities of bronze that its weight could not be determined. (2 Chronicles 4: 16b-18 NLT)

These beautiful pieces were created first in an expendable material – clay. The clay was shaped properly before being filled with melted bronze or gold.  The clay was less expensive, but necessary for the finished product.

I want my life to be molded by the Lord.
I want my life to be poured into a mold created by the Lord.

I’m ok with my life being used to form a more beautiful piece. I am expendable before the Lord. I want Him to use my life to bring honor and glory to Him. Check this out….

And yet, O Lord, you are our Father.
We are the clay, and you are the potter.
We all are formed by your hand. (Isaiah 64:8 NLT)

The created (me) doesn’t tell the Creator (God) what to make. I’m simply a moldable, shapable lump of clay in The Creator’s hands.  I want to be shaped and molded however He wants.  My role is humility, surrender and service to the Potter.

Pressing On!

Dwayne
