Loyal to The Lord
I have been a Christian since third grade. I remember wanting to go to heaven when I died. I was scared of going to hell. Later in my life’s journey, I understood what it meant to love the Lord and trust Him with my life. I would say that I became a Christ follower at that point. For several years, I was a Christian without being a “Christ follower”. The difference to me is one is in name only and the other is about a growing, healthy and loyal relationship with God through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, God’s One and Only Son.
I came across a word this morning that really describes my relationship with the Lord. In fact, it describes a lot of relationships that are part of my life. The word I’m speaking of is Loyal. This word at its most basic level means faithful.
King Asa of Judah led the people back to the Lord and He brought loyalty to the Lord back to being a normal part of their lives. Check this out…..
14 They shouted out their oath of loyalty to the Lord with trumpets blaring and rams’ horns sounding. 15 All in Judah were happy about this covenant, for they had entered into it with all their heart. They earnestly sought after God, and they found him. And the Lord gave them rest from their enemies on every side. (2 Chronicles 15:14-15 NLT)
I want loyalty to be a definition that describes how I live out my life.
I want to be a loyal follower of God.
I want to be a loyal husband, Dad, son and brother.
I want to be a loyal friend.
I want to be a loyal leader.
I want to be a loyal, trusted advisor in the area of Real Estate.
I believe if my heart is devoted to the Lord, I will love and serve others with a loyal commitment that goes deep. I believe loyal is a sound and solid character trait that should be present in my life. My loyalty to the Lord is what is driving my loyalty to serve others.
Pressing On!
