Light Of The World

I love light! I love being in the light. I don’t much care for darkness unless I’m watching a movie, which is a lit us screen! Light kicks darkness out of the room. Light takes on all sorts of significance at Christmas time. My son loves to decorate the house outside and inside with Christmas lights. I actually love his Christmas spirit and surrender to a higher electric bill. Christmas is actually about how the Light of the World first came to the world.Isaiah foretells the coming of Jesus, the Light of the World. Check this out….

Shine on!

 “Jerusalem, get up and shine, because your light has come, and the glory of the Lord shines on you. 2 Darkness now covers the earth; deep darkness covers her people.
 But the Lord shines on you, and people see his glory around you. 3 Nations will come to your light; kings will come to the brightness of your sunrise.
You will name your walls Salvation 
and your gates Praise. 19 The sun will no longer be your light during the day nor will the brightness from the moon be your light, 
because the Lord will be your light forever,
and your God will be your glory. (Isaiah 60:1-3, 18b-19 NCV)

 The Light of the World is Jesus and He brought Hope and Peace with Him when He came. He still comes into the hearts of people who welcome Him. I am humbled by the Presence of the Light. He illuminates my path and changes me from deep within and then it shows to everyone I meet.  I’m also grateful that Jesus, The Light of the World calls me what He’s called; check this out…

 14 “You are the light that gives light to the world. A city that is built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 And people don’t hide a light under a bowl. They put it on a lampstand so the light shines for all the people in the house. 16 In the same way, you should be a light for other people.   Live so that they will see the good things you do and will praise your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:14-16 NCV)

Light is quiet, but loud! Light does not draw attention to itself, but you can’t miss it either. My goal today is to SHINE! I want others to know Jesus because He lives inside of me. I don’t want to dim the light – I want to crank it up!
