Legacy
I’ve always thought of legacy is something that comes after I’m gone from this life. It is also thought of what things I’d leave behind. I do want my children to know Jesus and follow Him with their lives. That would be a legacy to be extremely thankful for. The sons of Korah have written a beautiful wedding song and they speak of legacy. Check this out….
16 Your sons will take the place of your fathers; you will make them princes throughout the land. 17 I will perpetuate your memory through all generations; therefore the nations will praise you for ever and ever. (Psalm 45:16-17 NIV)
What will people say about me when I’m gone?
What will people think about how I lived my life?
How will my family live on after I’m gone?
How will my children live out the faith in God that I’ve planted in their heart?
I want to leave a legacy of faith. I want my children to be lovers of God. I want them to be generous in giving. I want them to be compassionate. I want them to be consistent and faithful as they walk with the Lord each day. I want my legacy to honor the Lord for as long as I’m remembered. My legacy still depends on my life choices today. I do want to honor the Lord this day and every day. I don’t want my legacy to honor me – I want my legacy to honor the Lord!
Pressing On! Dwayne
