Justice
This is a word that I often used when seeing court cases and weighing in my opinion of innocence or guilt. The definition of justice has to do with just behavior or treatment: a concern for justice, peace, and genuine respect for people. There are many ways that I can show justice to others in my every day life.
The word justice seems to go hand in hand with the word respect. I believe God is the Creator and Sustainer of life. I believe life is something that is important to Him. I should show respect and offer justice to all living beings. Asaph cried out for justice among his people. Check this out…
1 God is in charge of the great meeting; he judges among the “gods.” 2 He says, “How long will you defend evil people? How long will you show greater kindness to the wicked? 3 Defend the weak and the orphans; defend the rights of the poor and suffering. 4 Save the weak and helpless; free them from the power of the wicked. (Psalm 84:1-4 NCV)There is much truth and instruction in this Psalm. I believe that God loves it when His people help and defend the rights of the poor and suffering. He loves it when we help people who can’t help themselves. Sounds a lot to me like what He does for me. I believe when we treat others justly and with deep respect we are displaying a characteristic of God!
