Joy Of Presence
I must confess that I’m easily distracted during the day with a “buzz” or a “ding” from my phone or my watch. I’m learning that to be fully present with someone, I have to lay my phone down away from me. I also need to disconnect my watch. The thing is, I want to be available to my friends, agents, clients and customers. I’m learning that when I’m available to everyone all the time, I’m not totally present with anyone at any time. This is a hard call. I really want to be present with the person in the room with me. I really want to be present with the person on the phone with me. Being present is a gift of myself to the other person.
The Lord gives me the gift of His Presence. He never leaves me. He never ignores me. King David celebrated the Presence of God in his prayer journal/psalms. Check this out…
6 You have endowed him with eternal blessings
and given him the joy of your presence.
7 For the king trusts in the Lord.
The unfailing love of the Most High will keep him from stumbling. (Psalm 21:6-7 NLT)
If trust is the currency of faith, then I want to grow in my trust of the Lord. The more I trust Him, the deeper my faith grows. I want to continually practice the Presence of the Lord. I want to notice the Presence of the Lord. He gifted me the gift of His Spirit when Jesus left the earth. His continued presence has been a game changer in my journey of faith.
I’m thankful that when I’m cutting grass, I can feel His Presence.
I’m thankful that when I’m working on a contract, I can feel His Presence.
I’m thankful that when I’m on vacation, I can feel His Presence.
I can feel His Presence in my every day, normal walking around life. #thankful
