I Want In
When I read the Old Testament history of Israel, I often think about how they often missed the very presence of God among them. They were often self-absorbed and self-centered and missed what He as trying to do for them. I don’t have “Israel envy”, but I do want to know God and have Him walk with me much the same way He walked with them. When I catch myself thinking that I want in to what the people of Israel had, I realize that I have that and much more. The Lord made a way for everyone who wants to become His kid can do so. Anyone who wants to follow Him will be welcomed into His family. Check this out….
3 “Don’t let foreigners who commit themselves to the Lord say,
‘The Lord will never let me be part of his people.’
6 “I will also bless the foreigners who commit themselves to the Lord,
who serve him and love his name,
who worship him and do not desecrate the Sabbath day of rest,
and who hold fast to my covenant.
7 I will bring them to my holy mountain of Jerusalem
and will fill them with joy in my house of prayer.
I will accept their burnt offerings and sacrifices,
because my Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations.
8 For the Sovereign Lord,
who brings back the outcasts of Israel, says:
I will bring others, too,
besides my people Israel.” (Isaiah 56:3a, 6-8 NLT)
I’m thankful that the Lord welcomes me into His family.
I’m thankful that the Lord welcomes me into fellowship with Him.
I’m thankful that the Lord is with me through everything I face.
I’m thankful that the Lord has given me a future with hope and assurance.
He invited me in to His family through His Son Jesus Who came to become the final sacrifice for sin. Jesus brought grace and mercy when He came to redeem the lost. People from every tribe, tongue and nations are now welcomed in to salvation from God.
The Lord has not only welcomed me in, He has given me a new name. I now wear His Name. I am in His family just like Noah, Moses, Elijah, King David – to name a few. He loves me and He’s patient with me. He encourages me to bring others with me. I love telling people about the “peace that passes understanding” and the living hope that inspires and motivates me every day! This is not an exclusive club – He invites everyone to know Him and to follow Him. Everyone can have the same hope and promise that I have.
Pressing On!
