I Know!

Man with arrogant expressionThere are some people who know everything – if you don’t believe me just ask them. I do have an opinion about just about everything, but I don’t choose to always share it.  I get frustrated with people who “know it all”.  I also get frustrated with people who should “know better”. There are people who know what is right and still do the wrong thing – on purpose. There are things I know that I’m not real sure how I know them. There are things that I’m still learning about and I will know more as I study, research and learn.  The Apostle Paul knew how to preach and teach about this Jesus Whom he had a personal encounter with. 22 Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: “People of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious. 23 For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: to an unknown god. So you are ignorant of the very thing you worship—and this is what I am going to proclaim to you.
24 “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. 25 And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. 26 From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. 27 God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. 28 ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’ (Acts 17:24-28 NIV)

I have walked with the Lord for several years now and I just know things about Him. I know of His nature from both my journey in life and my journey in His Word. I know that He is a God of Justice and God of Mercy. He is interested in every detail and facet of my life’s journey. I serve Him because I love Him. I honor Him because I love Him. No matter how much I love Him, I’m still learning the depths of His love for me. I know He is God. I know He is Creator. I know He cares for me. I know He is the Giver of Life. I know He is the Sustainer of Life.

I want to know more than I already know about Him!
